Job summary

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Coder to join our established Clinical Coding Department in a home-based role. You will contribute to high-quality coded clinical data within a busy NHS acute environment and work as part of a supportive team.

The successful applicant will hold the National Clinical Coding Qualification (ACC) or be on track to achieve Accredited Clinical Coder status.

Qualifications

• Accredited Clinical Coder (ACC) with evidence of CPD.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
• Experience with NHS PAS and Microsoft software.
• Financially aware and detail-oriented clinical coding.
• Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced NHS environment.
• Experience in acute hospital coding is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high level of clinical coding knowledge and accuracy.
• Manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines.
• Liaise with clinicians to clarify information for accurate coding.
• Support the coding team with mentoring and knowledge sharing.
