Job summary

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Clinical Coder (ACC qualified) to join the busy Clinical Coding Department. The post involves coding inpatient and day-case episodes across all specialties, liaising with clinicians and ensuring accuracy to national standards.

Flexible working with on-site and remote options is available, with opportunity for mentoring junior coders. The role requires strong medical terminology knowledge, anatomy and physiology, and the ability to work to tight

Qualifications

• Good knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy department.
• Experience in clinical coding of inpatient and day-case episodes.

Responsibilities

• Carry out clinical coding of inpatient and day-case episodes across all specialties.
• Abstract clinical data from patient records and translate into ICD-10 and OPCS classifications.
• Liaise with clinicians to verify data and ensure accuracy with national standards.
• Mentor and support novice clinical coders and contribute to training.
