Sodexo is recruiting a Senior Cleaner at Lady Eleanor Holles School in Hampton. The role combines hands-on cleaning with supervision, ensuring high standards across the site. The position runs Monday to Friday with a 52-week contract and 18.00 per hour rate.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of cleaners during your shift.
• Carry out cleaning duties alongside the team; ~50% cleaning tasks.
• Ensure tasks are completed efficiently to set standards.
• Monitor standards across the school site.
• Support the Contract Director with cleaning operations.
• Lead team briefings and foster a positive working environment.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, fire safety and COSHH compliance.
• Monitor equipment, materials, and storage areas for maintenance.
• Report incidents, accidents, damages or concerns promptly.
• Maintain an exceptional environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Pay£18.00 per hour

Hours up to 30.5 hours per week (to be discussed at interview)

Working Pattern Monday to Friday

Shift Times: Start 14.00 -18.00 or finish19:30 (to be discussed at interview)

Contract: 52 working weeks a year plus holiday

What You Do:

• Supervise and support a team of cleaners during your shift.
• Take a hands-on approach to the role, carrying out cleaning duties alongside the team as required. Approximately 50% of the role will involve cleaning duties.
• Ensure cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and to agreed standards.
• Carry out cleaning duties and monitor standards across the school site.
• Support the Contract Director with the organisation of cleaning operations.
• Lead team briefings and promote a positive, engaged working environment.
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, fire safety and COSHH requirements.
• Monitor cleaning equipment, materials and storage areas, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard.
• Report incidents, accidents, damages or concerns promptly and appropriately.
• Help maintain an exceptional environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

What You Bring:

• Previous Cleaning experience in a school or hospitality environment
• Previous supervisory or management experience, ideally within cleaning, facilities management or housekeeping.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and people-management skills.
• A commitment to delivering high standards of customer service.
• The ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
