Parker Franklyn in Leeds is seeking a Senior Claims Handler to take ownership of a personal caseload, coordinating with brokers, policyholders, legal advisers and internal stakeholders to bring claims to a result. Your background in EL/PL, PI, Mgmt Liability or Cyber will shape the role and its development path.

Cyber claims experience is difficult to find in the North. This insurer knows that.
That is why they are not limiting the opportunity to people who already have “Cyber Claims Handler” written on their CV. If you have a strong background in Employers’ Liability/Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, Management Liability or Cyber claims, you could have the foundations they are looking for.
You would be joining a leading insurer with ambitious plans for its claims operation, giving you the opportunity to build on what you already know while gaining exposure to different and increasingly important product areas.
The opportunity
This is a Senior Claims Handler position where you will take responsibility for your own caseload, working with brokers, policyholders, legal advisers and internal stakeholders to bring claims to the right conclusion.
The precise shape of the role can be influenced by your existing experience.
You may already handle cyber claims and want to join an insurer that can offer a stronger platform and longer-term development. Alternatively, you may come from EL/PL, Professional Indemnity or Management Liability and want the chance to broaden your technical knowledge into cyber and other specialist lines.
You will not be expected to know every product from day one. The business is interested in the claims judgement, technical grounding and approach you can bring, as well as your willingness to learn.
Your responsibilities are likely to include:
What they are looking for
You will need claims-handling experience in at least one of the following areas:
Direct cyber experience would naturally be valuable, and they may paid significantly above the salary scale for this, but it is not the only route into the position.
More importantly, you should be comfortable taking ownership of claims, assessing information properly and explaining your decisions clearly. They are looking for someone who can balance technical accuracy with a sensible and commercial approach.
You are likely to suit the role if you:
Why consider this opportunity?
The attraction is not simply the chance to perform the same claims role for a different employer.
The insurer is investing in its business and growing its capabilities. That creates opportunities for people who join now to develop alongside it.
For the right person, this could mean progressing into a more senior claims position over time. It could equally mean becoming a broader and more technically rounded claims professional by gaining experience across products that may not be available within your current employer.
You will have the backing of an established insurer while still joining at a stage where there is room to learn, contribute and build a longer-term career.
Interested?
You do not need to be a cyber claims specialist to have a worthwhile conversation.
If you currently handle EL/PL, Professional Indemnity, Management Liability or Cyber claims and would like to understand how the role could fit your experience, please apply or contact Parker Franklyn for a confidential discussion.
