Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer in Leeds or Newcastle with hybrid working (3 days in the office / 2 days at home) to help shape UK water infrastructure. You will lead multidisciplinary design teams, deliver robust civil and structural solutions across water and wastewater projects, and mentor junior engineers.

You will contribute to AMP8 programmes, engage clients and stakeholders, and drive technical excellence within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in civil and structural engineering, ideally in UK water sector.
Experience designing reinforced concrete structures.
Knowledge of water and wastewater sector design standards and Eurocodes.

Responsibilities

Lead civil and structural design activities for water and wastewater projects.
Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports and specifications.
Deliver reinforced concrete and structural designs for water-retaining and buried structures.
Support major AMP8 programmes and capital investment schemes.
Mentor and develop junior engineers; manage project deliverables to quality, time and budget.
Engage with clients, contractors and internal teams; contribute to technical excellence.
