Job summary

Matchtech is supporting a major nuclear services and engineering consultancy for a Senior Civil Engineer (Structural) based in Bristol. The role backs the replication design from HPC to SZC and acts as Technical Lead for SZ2201 across Pre-SOC and Post-SOC delivery.

You will oversee civil design, review technical specs, lead contractor surveillance, and manage TQs while ensuring compliance with UK nuclear standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of post-graduate experience in civil design engineering.
• Nuclear industry exposure and familiarity with UK project sequences desirable.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering structures, CW codes/standards, and soil geotechnics.
• Understanding of UK Health & Safety regulations (HSWA 1974, CDM 2015).

Responsibilities

• Design & Technical Oversight: provide expert civil engineering input and lead technical alignment meetings.
• Specification Review & Surveillance: assist CEL with reviews and surveillance programmes.
• Lessons Learnt: embed learnings from HPC into SZ2201 activities.
• Contractor Compliance: ensure adherence to technical specs and standards by contractor.
• Technical Queries (TQs): lead resolution of complex queries and changes.
• Tool & Process Development: refine contract management tools for surveillance and workflow.
• Client & Entity Liaison: act as primary technical bridge across client entities and delivery teams.
