Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Senior Civil and Structural Engineer to join the HMNB Clyde Faslane site in Helensburgh. This full-time role offers hybrid working with a typical 36 hours per week and one day on site for surveys.

You will lead inspections, assess infrastructure, and ensure compliance, while providing technical guidance across civil, structural and building engineering disciplines within a defence environment. Security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within civil, structural or building engineering environments.
• Experience carrying out infrastructure inspections, asset assessments or engineering compliance activities.
• Experience reviewing and approving engineering designs, specifications or technical solutions.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards, compliance requirements and risk management processes.
• Experience providing technical leadership and engaging with stakeholders within complex operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Conducting and managing inspections of civil, structural and building assets across the site.
• Reviewing engineering compliance, infrastructure risks and asset performance to support safe operations.
• Providing technical advice and recommendations to infrastructure, maintenance and project teams.
• Assessing and approving engineering designs, specifications and technical solutions submitted by internal and third-party organisations.
• Leading technical governance activities and acting as a subject matter expert for civil, structural and building engineering matters
