Job summary

Babcock is hiring a Senior Civil and Structural Engineer at HMNB Clyde Faslane site. The role blends technical leadership with infrastructure governance to ensure safe, compliant operations in a defence environment. Hybrid working includes approximately one on-site day per week for surveys and inspections.

The role requires significant civil/structural experience, a relevant degree, and Chartered Engineer status (or progress toward chartership). Security Check clearance is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant civil/structural/building engineering experience.
• Experience inspecting infrastructure assets and assessing compliance.
• Experience reviewing engineering designs and technical solutions.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards, compliance requirements and risk management.
• Experience leading technical governance and engaging stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of civil, structural and building assets across the site.
• Review infrastructure compliance, risks, and asset performance for safe operations.
• Provide technical advice to infrastructure, maintenance and project teams.
• Assess and approve engineering designs and technical solutions from internal/third-party teams.
• Lead governance activities and act as SME for civil/structural/building engineering matters.
