Job summary

A recruitment agency is looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer in Glasgow to manage project requirements and deliverables. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in heavy civils and structural projects, including maritime and nuclear sectors. Responsibilities include supervising construction activities, managing partner inputs, and ensuring quality standards. This is a contract role inside IR35 with a focus on stakeholder engagement and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in floating structures and vehicle and passenger bridges.
• Sole British National and UK Born.
• Experience of management delivery within defence and/or nuclear sector.
• Experience in production of performance specifications for heavy civils and structural projects.
• Experience in management of design delivery partners.
• Experience in developing design and safety assurance heavy civils and structural projects.
• Experience in quality and nuclear safety case production civil engineering for complex projects.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and third party communication throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Identify civil and structural project functional requirements.
• Manage design delivery partners inputs to the project.
• Review project drawings and specifications.
• Provide technical supervision of civil and structural construction activities.
• Carry out technical assessment/health check to ensure acceptance of design delivery partners project drawings, specifications, design risk assessments and all associated civil and structural documentation assessments.
• Provide technical supervision of all civil and structural construction activities to ensure compliance with design intent.
• Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning of all civil and structural work
• Liaise and consult with all stakeholders and relevant third parties throughout project life cycle to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
• Comply with all Environment, Health, Safety, Security and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments and support the continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality on Site.
• The successful candidate will be expected to support delivery within his or her range of skills, knowledge, experience and competence.
• Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism
