Job summary

Bovis is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Engineering team in London. You will report to the Head of Construction Engineering, providing technical guidance on temporary works, buildability, design reviews and value engineering during bidding and preconstruction.

You will promote safety and sustainability, drive buildability, and ensure designs meet high standards for client expectations while mentoring junior staff across regional offices.

Qualifications

• Requires construction or engineering degree and chartered status with ICE/IStructE.
• Experience in design management, value engineering and governance for temporary and permanent works.
• Proven ability to review bids, designs and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice across projects and regional offices.
• Promote design safety, sustainability and buildability.
• Review bids and engineering solutions for compliance and value.
• Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities.
• Support allocation of design resources and external consultants.
• Develop technical standards and guidance documents.
• Undertake site inspections, surveys and technical reviews.
• Mentor engineers and graduates.
• Support business development and client presentations.
• Lead technical reviews during bid, PCSA and conversion phases.
• Support design briefs and design management strategies.
