Job summary

Altrad UK, Ireland & Nordics seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead civil engineering and infrastructure projects in the nuclear defence sector. You will drive planning, delivery, safety, cost control and quality, coordinating design, procurement and construction through full lifecycle.

The role emphasizes NEC4 contract delivery, multidisciplinary leadership, stakeholder engagement and rigorous reporting to meet governance standards.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience managing major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing projects through the full lifecycle, from design through to handover.
• Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and project delivery.
• Experience managing cost, risk, change and programme.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing contractors and consultants.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and reporting skills.
• Chartered or working towards chartership.
• NEC4 ECC Project Manager accreditation, or willingness to achieve it.
• APM qualification or equivalent project management experience.
• Experience using contract administration systems such as CEMAR.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate project teams to deliver successful outcomes.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture across projects.
• Manage stakeholders and maintain strong working relationships.
• Manage project scope, cost, schedule, quality and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee procurement and manage contractors and suppliers.
• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed time, cost and performance requirements.
• Monitor project progress and supplier performance.
• Complete regular project, commercial and performance reporting.
• Ensure projects meet required governance and assurance standards.
• Support continuous improvement and contribute to wider business objectives.
