Job summary

Altrad UK, Ireland & Nordics is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to lead a major infrastructure project and promote a strong safety culture on site. You will ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation (CDM), develop procedures, conduct audits, lead trainings and work with contractors to deliver safe, compliant outcomes across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing health and safety within construction, engineering, infrastructure or similar complex projects.
• Excellent knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, including CDM.
• Experience across design through handover in the project lifecycle.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Ability to implement health and safety management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a positive health and safety culture across a major infrastructure project.
• Ensure project compliance with health and safety legislation and organisational policies.
• Provide health and safety advice to project teams and stakeholders.
• Develop, review and maintain health and safety procedures and documentation.
• Review contractor risk assessments and method statements.
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
• Investigate accidents and incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Produce health and safety reports and records.
• Collaborate with teams, contractors and external stakeholders to promote best practice.
