Job summary

Altrad is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead delivery, governance and performance of an engineering area. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, support development and maintenance of plant, equipment and infrastructure, and drive safety and regulatory compliance in line with nuclear defence sector standards.

Qualifications

• Degree level in engineering or science or equivalent qualification.
• Chartered Engineer status, or clear plan to attain it through development.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering delivery in complex, high-hazard or regulated settings.
• Experience in technical governance, design assurance and review or acceptance of deliverables.
• Ability to manage priorities, resources, interfaces, risk and performance.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and clear written communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the engineering delivery plan and performance of the assigned area, managing priorities and risks across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate engineering support to systems and projects, ensuring inputs are integrated and traceable from user need through design and acceptance.
• Apply governance and assurance per the project plan, design processes and delegated authority.
• Oversee consultants, service providers, contractors and OEM activities and deliverables.
• Plan and chair engineering meetings, design reviews and technical reviews with clear actions recorded and closed.
• Provide direction to senior engineers and discipline engineers, ensuring defined responsibilities and effective delivery.
• Assess workload and resource needs, supporting recruitment, mentoring and career development.
• Stand in for the Head of Engineering and other managers when required and within authority.
• Support submissions to safety committees and authorization groups, including design changes and site activities.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and safety, security and quality requirements.
