Job summary

Major Highways Infrastructure Organisation is seeking a Project Manager to oversee delivering civil engineering programmes. Based in Bristol or Exeter, you will build strong relationships with regional teams and stakeholders to align strategy with delivery objectives.

You will review portfolio performance, support business cases, manage governance and financial reporting, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with industry standards and NEC contract management.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience delivering civil engineering projects.
• Project management qualifications such as APM, Prince2, MSP, or similar are desirable.
• Experience administering or managing NEC contracts.
• Strong understanding of construction practices, technical standards, and relevant industry legislation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with the Regional Management Team, Programme Delivery Managers and stakeholders.
• Review and report on portfolio delivery performance and support business case preparation.
• Manage programme governance, financial reporting and risk across capital budgets.
• Maintain a positive reputation through stakeholder communications during project delivery.
• Engage with communities, transport operators, road users and businesses.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement and portfolio management best practices.
• Manage portfolio risks, issues and dependencies and implement effective solutions.
