Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Estimator for a leading civil engineering contractor. You will play a central role in winning new work, interpreting drawings and preparing tender submissions.

You will source quotes, compile take-offs and bills of quantities, spot risks early, and act as the main contact for clients and internal teams throughout the tender process. A keen eye for commercial detail is essential.

An established civil engineering contractor is looking to strengthen its Sheffield team with the addition of an experienced Estimator.

You’ll play a central role in winning new work, engaging with clients, suppliers and colleagues across the business at every stage from first enquiry through to final tender.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building precise cost estimates and compiling tender submissions
• Interpreting drawings, specifications and supporting project documents
• Sourcing and assessing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
• Compiling take-offs and bills of quantities
• Spotting risks early and identifying opportunities for value engineering
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients and internal teams throughout the tender process
• Handing over successful bids smoothly to the delivery team once contracts are awarded

What we’re looking for:
