Job Description
Our Water Engineering Consultancy client is seeking Senior Civil Engineers with experience in clean and wastewater projects for a hybrid/remote working arrangement, based out of their Slough office on a permanent basis.
You will join a detailed design team, and water industry experience is essential. Our client offers career growth opportunities, with potential for ambitious engineers to develop into Design Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and deliver complex detailed design projects within the UK water industry.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Manage project planning, resource allocation, and ensure delivery within agreed timelines.
- Support the growth of a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Contribute to strategic decision-making, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with key clients to understand their needs and deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Lead client meetings and presentations to strengthen long-term relationships.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, structural engineers, and environmental specialists.
Qualifications & Experience
Cleanwater
- At least 5 years of UK-based civil engineering experience within the water industry.
- Strong background in detailed design, including trunk mains, distribution mains, and production site civils.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis tools.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively working towards it (e.g., ICE).
- Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
Wastewater
- Over 5 years' experience in UK-based wastewater pipeline design and sewer infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of rising mains, trunk sewers, pressurised pipelines, and drainage hydraulics.
- Experience with design standards like Sewers for Adoption, Water UK, and BS EN standards.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modelling software such as InfoWorks ICM, MicroDrainage, or Epanet.
