Job summary

MWH Treatment is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design activities for major water and wastewater projects in the UK. You will deliver robust, buildable solutions aligned with client requirements, regulatory standards and long-term asset performance objectives.

You will mentor junior engineers and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams to ensure quality, safety and on-time delivery across complex schemes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent preferred.
Chartered Engineer status preferred or working towards Chartership.
Experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Lead civil design tasks and packages to technical standards, budgets and programmes.
Develop civil designs, calculations, layouts, specifications and technical documentation for water and wastewater projects.
Produce cost-effective civil solutions considering constructability, safety and whole-life costs.
Review and assure civil design outputs for quality and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate civil design with Process, Mechanical, EICA, Structural, Digital and Commissioning teams.
Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities for optimisation.
Support design of civil infrastructure including concrete structures, drainage and pipelines.
Mentor junior engineers and graduates within the team.
Build strong working relationships with clients, discipline leads and site teams.
