Job summary

The Launch Group is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil design work on major water and wastewater projects within a regulated UK infrastructure context. You will drive design excellence, mentor junior staff, and collaborate across project teams to deliver compliant, buildable solutions.

You will engage with clients and stakeholders, applying digital engineering and sustainability principles while visiting site locations to support delivery and constructability reviews.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status advantageous.
• Experience delivering high-quality engineering solutions within regulated infrastructure.
• Strong design, quality, safety, and project delivery knowledge.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop civil engineering designs for water and wastewater projects.
• Ensure designs comply with legislation, standards, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with commercial, operational, and construction teams to develop practical, buildable solutions.
• Manage interfaces between civil engineering and other technical disciplines.
• Undertake technical reviews and act as a technical checker for deliverables.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders with a 'one team' approach.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, digital engineering solutions, and sustainable design practices.
• Conduct site visits and constructability reviews to ensure delivery success.
• Support and mentor junior engineers, graduates, and colleagues across the wider engineering team.
