Job summary

A Senior Engineer role is available with American Society of Civil Engineers in Hertfordshire. The position focuses on establishing level and survey control, supervising site engineers, and driving efficient construction methods in highways and reinforced concrete works.

Ideal candidates will hold a Civil Engineering degree or equivalent, possess a CSCS card and SMSTS, and be proficient with AutoCAD. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for coordinating with clients and site

Qualifications

• Experience in setting out on civil projects including highways and reinforced concrete works.
• Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent; CSCS card, SMSTS, and Confined Space training are expected.
• Experience using AutoCAD and strong record keeping/reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish level and survey control for contracts and oversee daily setting out activities.
• Be present for critical setting out activities and ensure checks are made regularly.
• Supervise and mentor trainee and site engineers across the region as line manager.
• Assist in developing efficient work methods and techniques.
• Undertake pre-start material take-offs and procurement schedules.
• Compile ITPs and Quality Management Plans and brief site teams.
• Complete quality audit records and prepare method statements/ toolbox talks.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental records are complete and compliant.
• Obtain as-built information ahead of project handover.
