Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (Structural) in Bristol, UK, to support nuclear new build programmes. The role covers technical leadership, design oversight, and contract management across Pre-SOC and Post-SOC phases under the SZ2201 contract.

The candidate will lead civil design activities, manage contractor technical queries, and ensure compliance with UK nuclear standards, HSWA, and CDM regulations, while collaborating with CEL and client teams.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate civil design experience in complex, heavy civil or regulated infrastructure.
• UK nuclear project design sequences familiarity is a plus.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering codes/standards and soil geotechnics.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on civil design topics and deliver key civil deliverables.
• Review specifications and lead technical alignment meetings.
• Oversee contractor technical queries and design changes.
• Ensure civil design deliverables meet UK nuclear standards.
• Develop and refine contract management tools to improve workflows.
• Liaise with client entities, delivery teams and external stakeholders.
