Job summary

Layka Connect is seeking a Senior/Principal Civil Engineer in the UK to lead drainage and highway infrastructure design for development projects. You will work with project managers across the business to deliver high-quality solutions, combining technical rigor with practical delivery.

The role requires a degree in Civil Engineering and 5+ years of UK development experience. Strong AutoCAD and Civils 3D skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate clearly

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of UK development-related infra engineering experience.
• Knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, local road standards, planning policy.
• Experience in highways and drainage design for S38, S278, S104.
• Experience with Microdrainage/Causeway Flow software.

Responsibilities

• Develop highway and drainage designs for S104, S38, S278 schemes.
• Perform technical assessments for new developments.
• Explain concepts to junior staff and clients.
• Check outputs, drawings and reports by juniors.
• Prepare or supervise presentations for internal/external groups.
• Manage projects with moderate supervision to deliver high quality outputs.
• Provide progress updates aligned to programmes.
• Write flood risk assessments or drainage strategies as needed.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
