Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer (SC Cleared) for Plymouth, on a hybrid-site basis. This 10-month contract role focuses on delivering major infrastructure projects within a highly regulated environment, providing technical leadership from design assurance through construction support and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering activities across complex infrastructure projects.
• Manage engineering support throughout project delivery.

• Respond to Technical Queries (TQs) and RFIs.
• Manage detailed design activities and ensure compliance with project standards.

• Provide technical supervision during construction and deconstruction activities.
• Support commissioning and decommissioning activities where required.
• Work closely with contractors, designers and wider project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Security and Quality requirements.
• Contribute to technical knowledge sharing and professional development within the team.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support the delivery of major infrastructure projects within a highly regulated engineering environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior civil engineering professional with experience in complex infrastructure, marine, nuclear, defence, or heavy civil projects to provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from design assurance through to construction support and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering activities across complex infrastructure projects.

Essential Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a relevant STEM discipline.
• Active SC Clearance.
• UK National.
• Demonstrable technical competence and relevant industry experience.
