Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Transport Infrastructure team in Luton on a permanent basis with hybrid working. The role focuses on the design and delivery of highways and drainage schemes for public and private sector clients, offering opportunities to contribute to major infrastructure projects within a collaborative consultancy.

The ideal candidate will have a Civil Engineering degree, consultancy highway experience, drainage design knowledge, and progress toward ICE

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering highways and infrastructure projects in a consultancy.
• Experience with drainage design and wider infrastructure projects.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status with ICE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and oversee the design of highways and drainage infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review technical designs, reports and engineering calculations.
• Deliver projects from feasibility and preliminary design through to detailed design and construction support.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and other project stakeholders.
• Support project managers with the delivery of schemes to programme and budget.
• Mentor and support the development of graduate and junior engineers.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and client requirements.
• Contribute to technical excellence and continuous improvement across the wider engineering team.

Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Transport Infrastructure team in Luton on a permanent basis, with hybrid working available. The role will focus on the design and delivery of highways and drainage schemes for public and private sector clients, offering the opportunity to contribute to high-profile infrastructure projects within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake and oversee the design of highways and drainage infrastructure projects
• Prepare and review technical designs, reports and engineering calculations
• Deliver projects from feasibility and preliminary design through to detailed design and construction support
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and other project stakeholders
• Support project managers with the delivery of schemes to programme and budget
• Mentor and support the development of graduate and junior engineers

Job Requirements:

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience delivering highways and infrastructure projects within a consultancy environment
• Strong knowledge of highways design principles, standards and best practice
• Experience liaising with clients, local authorities and project stakeholders
• Strong communication, technical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
• Experience in drainage design and wider infrastructure projectsFamiliarity with DMRB, Manual for Streets, Section 38 and Section 278 agreements
• Experience using Civil 3D, Causeway Flow, MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status with ICE or an equivalent professional body
