Job summary

TipTopJob seeks a Senior Civil Engineer for its London office (SE1) to manage drainage and infrastructure schemes, including flood risk assessments and highways. You will design, calculate, write reports, produce drawings and Civils 3D models, and perform site visits, surveys and inspections with coordination across authorities and architects.

• Experience as Civil Engineer in consulting environment
• Familiar with flood risk, drainage and highways projects
• Up-to-date with UK regulations such as Manual for Streets, DMRB and Design & Construction Guidance
• Experience working with highways authorities and statutory bodies
• Proficiency with InfoDrainage and Autodesk Civils 3D preferred
• Site visits, surveys, inspections and reporting experience
• Chartered or working towards chartership; ICE/ICE-ICE optional
• UK passport and driving licence for vetting clearance

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join my client, a firm of consulting engineers in their London office in London SE1.

You will join their team working on a good range of drainage and infrastructure schemes for really interesting and challenging projects

You will work on a range of projects doing flood risk assessments, drainage and highways.

You will do design, report writing, calculations, specifications, drawings and Civils 3D models plus do site visits, surveys, inspections etc.

Our client is a successful, fairly large firm of engineering consultants.

THE CANDIDATE

You will need to have the following:

• You must have a BSc or MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering.
• You should be IEng qualified with the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent or you may already be chartered with ICE.
• You need to have several years working as a Civil Engineer for a firm of consulting engineers.
• You need good all round civil engineering and infrastructure experience having worked on flood risk assessments, drainage and highways projects.
• You must be up to date with the various UK regulations including Manual for Streets, DMRB and Design and Construction Guidance.
• You need to have experience of working closely with highways authorities and similar.
• Some experience in the use of InfoDrainage and Autodesk Civils 3D or similar is required.
• Some experience of the preparation and submission of applications to statutory bodies and water companies for Section 104/106/185/50 agreements, do Land Drainage Consent applications and FRAP and EA Environmental Permits etc.
• You will do site visits and attend meetings with architects, planners, engineers, local authorities etc.
• You will ideally be working towards becoming chartered or be keen to do so and my client will give you good support towards chartership.
• A U.K. passport and driving licence is required as you will need to be able to get National Security Vetting CTC / Level 1B clearance.

Salary is negotiable between GBP40000 to GBP65000 depending on your level of experience and qualifications plus pension and other benefits.
