Job summary

TED Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for its London office (SE1). You will work on drainage and infrastructure schemes, performing flood risk assessments, drainage works and highways design, with Civils 3D modeling and site visits.

You should hold a BSc/MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering and be IEng or chartered with ICE, with several years in consulting. UK regs knowledge and proximity to highways authorities are required; security vetting may apply.

Qualifications

• BSc/MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering.
• IEng or chartered with ICE (or equivalent).
• Several years’ civil engineering experience in consulting.
• Experience in flood risk, drainage and highways projects.
• Aware of UK regs: Manual for Streets, DMRB, CDG.
• Experience with highways authorities and site meetings.
• Experience submitting Section 104/106/185/50 etc. applications.
• UK passport and driving licence; eligible for security vetting.

Job description

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join my client, a firm of consulting engineers in their London office in London SE1.

You will join their team working on a good range of drainage and infrastructure schemes for really interesting and challenging projects

You will work on a range of projects doing flood risk assessments, drainage and highways.

You will do design, report writing, calculations, specifications, drawings and Civils 3D models plus do site visits, surveys, inspections etc.

THE CLIENT

Our client is a successful, fairly large firm of engineering consultants.

THE CANDIDATE

You will need to have the following:-

You must have a BSc or MEng or BEng in Civil Engineering.

You should be IEng qualified with the Institution of Civil Engineers or equivalent or you may already be chartered with ICE.

You need to have several years working as a Civil Engineer for a firm of consulting engineers.

You need good all round civil engineering and infrastructure experience having worked on flood risk assessments, drainage and highways projects.

You must be up to date with the various UK regulations including Manual for Streets, DMRB and Design and Construction Guidance.

You need to have experience of working closely with highways authorities and similar.

Some experience in the use of InfoDrainage and Autodesk Civils 3D or similar is required.

Some experience of the preparation & submission of applications to statutory bodies & water companies for Section 104/106/185/50 agreements, do Land Drainage Consent applications and FRAP & EA Environmental Permits etc.

You will do site visits and attend meetings with architects, planners, engineers, local authorities etc.

You will ideally be working towards becoming chartered or be keen to do so and my client will give you good support towards chartership.

A U.K.passport and driving licence is required as you will need to be able to get National Security Vetting CTC / Level 1B clearance.

Salary is negotiable between £40000 to £65000 depending on your level of experience and qualifications plus pension and other benefits.
