Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Birmingham is representing a growing multidisciplinary consultancy seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead design across development projects, including drainage, SuDS and highways.

You will take responsibility for civil engineering design across multiple schemes, mentor junior staff and work with clients, with a hybrid working pattern and a salary of £50,000–£60,000.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong experience in development infrastructure design.
• Experience in drainage, SuDS and highways design.
• Knowledge of Civil 3D, PDS or Site 3D.
• Chartered or Incorporated status, or working towards.
• Strong project management and client-facing capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design across development projects.

• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies.
• Manage multiple projects and design packages.
• Produce and review designs using Civil 3D, PDS, Site 3D and AutoCAD.

Senior Civil Engineer

Are you a Senior Civil Engineer looking for greater project ownership, varied development projects and the opportunity to influence how a growing civil engineering team develops? This Birmingham role combines hands-on design, project responsibility and genuine progression within an established multidisciplinary consultancy.

The Opportunity

A growing engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Birmingham team. You will work across commercial, education, healthcare, residential and leisure developments, including major multi-million-pound projects.

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will take responsibility for civil engineering design elements across multiple schemes, remaining technically involved while managing project delivery and building relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design across development projects
• Deliver drainage, SuDS, highways and external infrastructure designs
• Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
• Manage multiple projects and civil engineering design packages
• Produce and review designs using Civil 3D, PDS, Site 3D and AutoCAD
• Work closely with clients and multidisciplinary design teams
• Help develop technical standards and influence the continued growth of the civil engineering team
• Support and mentor less experienced engineers and technicians

Candidate Requirements

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong development infrastructure design experience
• Experience across drainage, SuDS and highways design
• Knowledge of MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, PDS or Site 3D
• Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies
• Chartered or Incorporated status, or working towards professional qualification, would be advantageous
• Strong project management and client-facing capability
