Job summary

Conrad Consulting Ltd. is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in Bedford to lead civil infrastructure projects within a multidisciplinary consultancy. The role combines hands-on design, team leadership and client liaison, with scope for progression into wider leadership or senior management.

The successful candidate will oversee highways, drainage and SuDS, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contribute to bids and proposals. Chartered status and UK consultancy experience are preferred.

Qualifications

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to play a key role in delivering projects and driving the growth of its civil engineering team within an established multidisciplinary consultancy.

This is a varied, senior-level opportunity combining hands-on technical design, project leadership, client liaison and business development, with genuine scope to progress into wider leadership or senior management.

The successful candidate will lead civil engineering commissions covering highways, drainage, SuDS, flood risk, infrastructure and external works, while coordinating multidisciplinary teams and liaising with clients, contractors and approving authorities. Mentoring engineers, reviewing technical designs and supporting bids and fee proposals will also form part of the role.

Applicants should be degree qualified, ideally Chartered (CEng MICE or equivalent), with strong UK consultancy experience and expertise in civil infrastructure design. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar software is required, alongside excellent communication skills, commercial awareness and the confidence to lead projects and develop client relationships.
