Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday, 08:30–17:00; Friday, 08:30–15:00

A well-established civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Derby is seeking a

Senior Drainage Engineer

to lead the drainage and flood risk function of the business. This is a key appointment with a planned start date no later than

early June 2025.

The role primarily involves the design of drainage systems for small-scale developments and the preparation of flood risk assessments to support planning applications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and deliver drainage and flood risk contracts independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
2. Lead the organisation and oversight of projects within the drainage team.
3. Prepare surface water and foul drainage designs across all project stages, from outline strategy to detailed design and construction, including technical drawings, calculations, and reports.
4. Produce Flood Risk Assessments for submission in support of planning applications.
5. Conduct site visits, walkover inspections, and investigative assessments.
6. Liaise professionally with clients, developers, architects, and other members of the design team.
