Job summary

Kintec Global Recruitment is seeking a Senior Civil Design Engineer for Manchester. Office-based with hybrid flexibility, you will deliver civil design for UK water projects and lead CAD teams through approvals and changes.

Required are 5+ years in civil design within the UK water sector, with hydraulic calculation experience and a relevant degree or HND. Chartered status is desirable; sponsorship is welcome for candidates already in the UK.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil design experience in the UK water industry.
• Experience producing hydraulic calculations and hydraulic profiles.
• Strong technical capability and ability to manage design changes.

Responsibilities

• Produce civil engineering design deliverables that meet safety, quality and technical standards.
• Develop efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits.
• Prepare calculations, reports, specifications and design risk assessments.
• Direct and support CAD technicians, graduates and junior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with water industry standards.
• Manage design changes and ensure they are implemented and recorded.
• Attend and present designs at meetings such as HAZOP/ALM/KM.

Location: Manchester (Office-based / Hybrid with site visits)

Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE + Pension

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Office based with hybrid flexibility

Key Responsibilities

• Produce civil engineering design deliverables that meet safety, quality and technical standards


• Develop efficient design solutions from scopes and site visits


• Prepare calculations, reports, specifications and design risk assessments


• Direct and support CAD technicians, graduates and junior engineers


• Ensure compliance with water company, industry and professional standards


• Manage design changes and ensure they are fully implemented and recorded


• Estimate design hours and support programme planning


• Attend and present designs at HAZOP, ALM, KM and similar meetings

Requirements

• 5+ years' civil design experience within the UK regulated water industry


• Experience producing hydraulic calculations and hydraulic profiles


• HND, degree or equivalent experience from technician level


• Registered with a professional body and working toward chartership


• Strong technical capability, communication and organisational skills


• Experience across clean water, wastewater and infrastructure projects (desirable)


• Chartered Engineer status (desirable)


• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable)
