Job summary

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a substantive Consultant Cellular Pathologist for Royal Sussex County Hospital. You will join subspecialty teams in Gynecological and Gastrointestinal Pathology to deliver high-quality, timely diagnostics and contribute to leadership, teaching and regional collaboration.

The post is based at Royal Sussex County Hospital, with BSMS teaching responsibilities, no on-call requirements, and an established training-active department.

Qualifications

• FRCPath Part 2 or recognised equivalent.
• Full and specialist GMC registration or eligibility within six months of interview.
• CCT in pathology or evidence of equivalence confirmed by GMC.

Responsibilities

• Independent reporting of diagnostic cellular pathology with focus on Gynaecological and Gastrointestinal Pathology.
• Participation in MDT meetings and provision of timely clinicopathological advice.
• Clinical supervision of trainees and contribution to undergraduate/postgraduate education.
• Participation in clinical governance, audit, EQA, quality improvement, service development and leadership.
• Adherence to Trust policies including information governance, health and safety, safeguarding and equality, diversity and inclusion.

NGS and therapeutic IHC

Breadth of experience across fields

Education
