Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is inviting applications for a Consultant Cellular Pathologist to join the Cellular & Genomic Pathology team. The post is based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary with potential travel to other Leicester sites. It covers Breast and Urology with flexible duties as negotiated.

The role emphasizes teaching, clinical governance, and participation in audits and research, with a 10 programmed activities (PA) framework. GMC registration and CCT are essential.

Qualifications

• Medical qualification with GMC registration and CCT or equivalent.
• FRCPath or equivalent qualification required.
• Experience in Cellular, Urological and Dermatopathology.
• Strong teaching, audit and clinical governance exposure.

Responsibilities

• Carry out laboratory work including cutup, reporting and frozen sections.
• Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision.
• Engage in clinical audit, research and development activities.
• Attend multidisciplinary and other clinical meetings as required.
• Lead and support junior staff and manage duties within a MDT environment.
