Job summary

Talbot Underwriting is seeking a Senior Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join the Exposure Management team in London. You will support Political Violence and Cyber lines, work with Underwriting, Reinsurance and Aggregation to ensure exposure data accuracy, and help improve data quality across processes.

The role requires 3+ years in catastrophe modelling or related fields, with understanding of Cyber/Political Violence insurance applications and strong data reporting skills.

• 3+ years in a relevant role (e.g. Catastrophe Modelling, Exposure Management, Model Vendor, Cyber)
• Understanding of Cyber or Political Violence insurance applications
• Strong data extraction and reporting skills

Responsibilities

• Support Exposure Management Manager and analysts on Political Violence and Cyber lines
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Reinsurance and Aggregation to ensure exposure data accuracy
• Develop relationships with Group Analytics to leverage expertise
• Drive data quality improvements and process development
• Provide value-added analytics to the wider business
• Validate and run models measuring Talbot’s Cyber exposure
• Assist with regulatory reporting processes (RDS, SBF)

How you will create an impact

• Support the Exposure Management Manager and work with analysts in the team on Political Violence and Cyber lines of business, with the opportunity to get involved with other lines of business including Nat Cat.
• Work with key stakeholders including the Underwriting, Reinsurance and Aggregation teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of exposure data.
• Develop relationships with Group Analytics (AIG) to leverage expertise.
• Drive improvement of data quality and process development.
• Provide value add analytics to the wider business.
• Validate and run models used to measure Talbot’s Cyber exposure.
• Assist with the bi-annual RDS process, annual SBF process and other regulatory reporting requirements.

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years’ experience in a relevant role (e.g. Catastrophe Modelling, Exposure Management, Model Vendor, Cyber specific role)
• Degree in a relevant subject (preferable but not necessary if skills demonstrated elsewhere)
• An understanding of Cyber and/or Political Violence insurance application
• A good understanding of data extraction and report building
• Aptitude for problem solving and rebuilding out-dated processes
