Job summary

Senior Catastrophe Modeller at Aon plc in London will lead client analytics across catastrophe exposures, guiding reinsurers and brokers through complex model outputs. You will coordinate across marine, energy and terror lines, with opportunities to support property and treaty placements.

The role requires strong experience with vendor catastrophe models, programming skills (SQL, Python) and data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI).

Qualifications

• Proven experience in catastrophe analytics within a broker, insurer, reinsurer or a similar financial services organisation.
• A BSc or higher in finance, statistics or science or an equivalent qualification.
• Experience using vendor catastrophe models (RMS, Verisk, Cotality).
• Experience interpreting catastrophe model outputs and explaining their implications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• SQL coding skills are required; Python is preferred.
• Experience using Tableau or Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Act as the client analytics lead, coordinating reinsurance analysis and collaborator engagement across catastrophe and non-catastrophe initiatives and assignments.
• Lead discussions with reinsurers, brokers and actuaries to understand exposures, interpret modelling results, explain model limitations and resolve issues promptly.
• Collaborate with international colleagues and client teams to support analytical initiatives and assignments.
• Contribute to corporate practice groups and committees focused on catastrophe modelling and risk management.
• Lead critical initiatives to enhance GRS analytics capabilities, including benchmarking and view-of-risk advisory projects.
• Contribute to the development of Aon’s proprietary analytical tools and solutions that improve efficiency.
