Job summary

The Emerald Group is seeking an experienced catastrophe modelling professional based in London to help complete market model evaluations. You will inform the company's internal risk view and recommend frequency/severity adjustments where appropriate, collaborating with underwriting and exposure management teams.

The role requires a minimum of four years in catastrophe modelling, with hands-on RMS/AIR model experience and exposure management in the Lloyd's market.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years’ catastrophe modelling experience.
• Experience with RMS and/or AIR models is essential.
• Experience in catastrophe modelling or exposure management in Lloyd's market.
• Proficiency in mapping/analytical software such as QGIS or SpatialKey is desirable.

Responsibilities

• To ensure exposure data standards are well understood by Underwriting and actively monitored.
• To report and make data quality recommendations highlighting areas for improvement.
• To drive process efficiencies by embedding technology.
• To contribute towards a strategic roadmap, ensuring profitable portfolio growth and optimisation.
• To assist with the completion of market model evaluation(s) to inform and update the Company's internal view of risk, making recommendations for frequency and/or severity adjustments where appropriate.

• Experience of major vendor models RMS and/or AIR essential.
• Previous experience of catastrophe modelling and\or exposure management in the Lloyds market.
• Experience of / proficiency in the use of mapping / analytical software, QGIS, Spatial Key etc. desirable.
