Job summary

Paddox Primary School in Rugby is seeking a reliable, proactive School Caretaker to maintain a safe, welcoming and well-presented environment for pupils, staff and visitors. The role covers general maintenance, minor repairs and routine site upkeep.

You will monitor stock of cleaning materials and maintenance supplies, support contractors, and ensure grounds and buildings are clean, secure and well maintained. Hours are flexible to fit around the school day.

Qualifications

• Reliable, proactive and practical candidate.
• Experience in upkeep or handyman role preferred.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and decorating tasks.
• Monitoring, ordering, and maintaining stock levels of site and cleaning supplies.
• Conducting routine health and safety checks across the school premises.
• Supporting contractors and managing site access when required.
• Ensuring the school grounds and buildings remain clean, safe, and secure.
• Cleaning of the school halls.

Paddox Primary School is a large school and this is an exciting time to join our hard working, dedicated group of staff. We are a three-form entry school situated in a residential area on the outskirts of Rugby.
We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and practical School Caretaker to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be a skilled general handyperson, capable of carrying out routine maintenance, minor repairs, and site upkeep duties. A key part of the role will be monitoring and maintaining stock levels of cleaning materials, maintenance supplies, and essential site equipment, ensuring resources are readily available and ordered in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will be organised, self-motivated, and able to respond effectively to the day-to-day needs of a busy school environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and decorating tasks.
