Job summary

Pilgrims' Friend Society in Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join our residential care home for older people. You will deliver high-quality care, promote residents' health and wellbeing, and work as part of a dedicated team.

The role requires a health and social care qualification (RQF level 2+), at least 12 months experience in residential care, and the ability to lead shifts while hands-on.

Qualifications

• Must have an RQF accreditation in Health & Social care at level 2 or above.
• Minimum 12 months experience as a Senior Care Assistant in residential care.
• Able to lead shifts and take a hands-on role as a Care Assistant.
• Able to work effectively in a team and provide high-quality care to residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, professional care to residents.
• Supervise care team during your duty period and manage health, safety, and medications.
• Assist residents with personal care, including bathing and daily routines.
• Support residents to eat and drink and maintain independence.
• Foster dignity, respect, and social integration for residents.
• Keep care plans up-to-date and monitor residents’ wellbeing.

Our enthusiastic and motivated care team provides care 24/7 forour residents.The Care Assistant’s role is vital inthe residential care of older people, promoting their health and well-being on a personal level.

Luff Houseoffers residential care, dementia care and respite care along with retirement support in a superb, purpose-built environment on the fringes of Frinton-on-Sea.The health, well-being and happiness of our residents are of primary importance to us.

• Provide high quality, professional service of care to our residents.
• Supervise all staff on the Care Team during your period of duty (including among other responsibilities: taking responsibility for Health, Safety and Security; administering medications to residents; arranging cover for staff who are absent through sickness; etc).
• Help a resident with personal cleanliness such as helping a resident with a bath.
• Support residents to eat and drink.
• Get to know residents so as to comfort, assist and give reassurance when needed.
• Supervise the care and well-being of our residents.
• Ensure residents'care plans are up-to-date.
• Support our residents to keep independent and healthy and encourage themto be part of the community within the home.
• Treat others as individuals with unique and diverse needs and treat our residents with dignity and respect.
• Assist in the care at end of life.
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you are required to perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities.
• You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have empathy with them;
• You must have either an RQF accreditation in Health &Social care at level 2 or above;
• You have a minimum of 12 months experience working as a Senior CareAssistant in residential care;
• You must be willing to both leadshifts and take a "hands-on" role as a Care Assistant; and
• You need to be able to work in a team and be willing to take on any task to provide an excellent level of care to our residents.
