Job summary

Pilgrims' Friend Society operates Villa Adastra, a 40-bed residential care home in Hassocks, West Sussex, seeking compassionate Care Assistants to join our dedicated team. You will provide person-centred care to older residents, promoting health, wellbeing and dignity 24/7.

Role involves assisting with daily living, personal care, meal support, and end-of-life care as needed. A friendly, supportive environment with ongoing training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing care is essential.
• Understanding of dementia is essential.
• Ability to work with older people with empathy and respect.
• Able to work in a team and take on tasks to provide high level of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, professional care to residents.
• Assist with personal cleanliness and bathing.
• Support residents with eating and drinking.
• Get to know residents to provide comfort and reassurance.
• Treat residents with dignity and respect.
• Encourage independence and community involvement within the home.
• Assist with tidying, cleaning, laundering and other domestic tasks.

We are looking for compassionate and adaptable Care Assistants to join our friendly and dedicated Care Team at Villa Adastra, our residential care home for older people in Hassocks, West Sussex

Our enthusiastic team provides high-quality care and support 24 hours a day, helping residents live with dignity, comfort and independence. As a Care Assistant, you'll play a vital role in promoting the health and wellbeing of our residents through person-centred care and meaningful relationships.

Villa Adastra is a welcoming 40-bed residential care home offering permanent, respite and end-of-life care, including specialist support for people living with dementia. See our home here.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a high quality, professional service of care to our residents.
• Help a resident with personal cleanliness such as helping a resident with a bath.
• Support residents to eat and drink.
• Get to know residents so as to comfort, assist and give reassurance when needed.
• Treat others as individuals with unique and diverse needs.
• Treat our residents with dignity and respect.
• Support our residents to keep independent and healthy and encourage them to be part of the community within the home.
• Assist with tidying, cleaning, laundering and other domestic tasks when needed.
• Assist in the care at end of life.

About you:

• You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have an empathy with them;
• You need to be able to work in a team and be willing to take on any task to provide an excellent level of care to our clients; and
• You need to be well-organised, adaptable and practical.
• Experience in providing care and an understanding of dementia is essential.

Hours:

35 hours per week, days.

Working alternative weekends.
