Job summary

Abbotswood Court, a Cinnamon Care Collection home in Romsey, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to join our residential and dementia care team. The role covers day shifts, supervising peers, and providing high-quality care with dignity.

You will need NVQ Level 3, medication administration experience, and at least two years' experience with older people. We offer a supportive team, induction, training, and benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in care is required.
• Medication administration experience and knowledge of care standards.
• Experience supervising care assistants and mentoring peers.

Responsibilities

• Care for residential and dementia residents with compassion.
• Supervise and mentor junior care staff on shift.
• Administer medications following policy and safety guidelines.
• Promote independence, choice and dignity for residents.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and reliable Senior Care Assistant to be part of our care team looking after our residential and dementia residents. Our team members must have a real passion for care and want to work as part of a close-knit team supporting each other, and wanting to promote choice, individuality and independence to our residents at all times. We are looking to recruit experienced Senior Carers who hold a NVQ level 3 (or equivalent qualification) and have a sound knowledge of care legislation including CQC Fundamental Standards. You will have supervisory experience, Medication administration experience (& relevant qualification) as well as being a supportive mentor to the care assistants. You will need 2 years’ previous experience gained from working with older people and people who experience dementia – previous experience as a Senior Care Assistant is desirable.
