Pilgrims’ Friend Society in Hassocks, West Sussex, seeks a Senior Care Assistant for Villa Adastra, a 40-bed residential home caring for older people. The role involves 24/7 care under a dedicated team to promote residents' health and well-being.

You will supervise shifts, assist with personal care and medications, help with meals, and keep care plans current while encouraging independence and community involvement.

Qualifications

• Must have RQF accreditation in Health & Social care at level 2 or above.
• Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Senior Care Assistant in residential care.
• Willing to lead shifts and take a hands-on role as required.
• Able to work effectively in a team and provide excellent care to residents.

Responsabilités

• Provide high quality, professional service of care to residents.
• Supervise all staff on the Care Team during your duty period (including Health, Safety and Security; administering medications; arranging cover for staff absent due to sickness).
• Help residents with personal care (e.g., bathing).
• Support residents to eat and drink.
• Know residents to offer comfort and reassurance when needed.
• Supervise care and well-being of residents.
• Ensure care plans are up-to-date.
• Support residents to stay independent and engage with the community within the home.
• Treat residents with dignity and respect.
• Assist in end-of-life care.

We currently have an opportunity for a SeniorCare Assistant to join our dedicated Care Team at Villa Adastra, our residential care home for older people in Hassocks, West Sussex.

Our enthusiastic and motivated care team provides care 24/7 forour residents.The Senior Care Assistant’s role is vital inthe residential care of older people, promoting their health and well-being on a personal level.

Villa Adastra is a welcoming 40-bed residential care home offering permanent, respite and end-of-life care, including specialist support for people living with dementia. See our home here.

• Provide high quality, professional service of care to our residents.
• Supervise all staff on the Care Team during your period of duty (including among other responsibilities: taking responsibility for Health, Safety and Security; administering medications to residents; arranging cover for staff who are absent through sickness; etc).
• Help a resident with personal cleanliness such as helping a resident with a bath.
• Support residents to eat and drink.
• Get to know residents so as to comfort, assist and give reassurance when needed.
• Supervise the care and well-being of our residents.
• Ensure residents’care plans are up-to-date.
• Support our residents to keep independent and healthy and encourage themto be part of the community within the home.
• Treat others as individuals with unique and diverse needs and treat our residents with dignity and respect.
• Assist in the care at end of life.
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you are required to perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities.
• You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have empathy with them;
• You must have either an RQF accreditation in Health &Social care at level 2 or above;
• You have a minimum of 2 years experience working as a Senior CareAssistant in residential care;
• You must be willing to both leadshifts and take a “hands-on” role as required; and
• You need to be able to work in a team and be willing to take on any task to provide an excellent level of care to our residents.
