Avery Healthcare Group is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant for nights at Silvermere Care Home. The role focuses on personal care, assisting with medications, monitoring wellbeing, and keeping care plans and records up to date.

It also involves running staff supervisions and acting as the main contact for residents' relatives and health and social care professionals. Applicants need an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes, two years' experience in a similar setting, and a satisfactory DBS

What the job involves

• Deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, caring and inclusive environment, working alongside the Care team
• Monitor each resident's wellbeing, spot changes affecting their care and make sure new needs are met
• Amend written records to reflect any change in a resident's needs
• Take part in person-centred care planning, implementing plans and carrying out monthly evaluations
• Give residents support with their medication
• Carry out staff supervisions and support staff with their development
• Act as the key contact for residents, relatives, visitors and health and social care professionals, acting on reasonable requests and escalating concerns or complaints

What’s required

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes

Experience

• Two years' experience in a similar care environment

Skills & knowledge

• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
• Positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff
• Responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities
