Job summary

Sandmere Care Home in Margate is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide the team in delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care. You will oversee shifts, manage medications, and monitor residents’ wellbeing to maintain high standards.

You will maintain care records and communicate with families and health professionals to ensure continuity of care and a supportive environment for residents.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), Level 3 desirable
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach

Responsibilities

Job description

A purpose-built care home located in the heart of the Margate community in Kent. Our 68-bed luxury service provides exceptional levels of Residential Care, Nursing Care, Dementia Care, and Respite Care

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.03 per hour + Paid breaks
• Contracted to 48 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
