Job summary

Boclair Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, in Glasgow, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead and support the care team in delivering person-centred, high-quality care to residents. You will supervise shifts, handle medication administration, monitor wellbeing, maintain accurate records and liaise with families and healthcare professionals to ensure safe, consistent care 24/7.

This role offers a competitive hourly rate of £14.50 for 44 hours per week, with PVG paid, pension, uniform

Qualifications

• Requires SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care at minimum.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience leading or supporting a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

Job description

This luxurious, private care facility is situated in the affluent suburb of Glasgow. The care home offers elegant accommodation for up to 80-residents along with outstanding Residential, Dementia, Nursing & Respite care.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
