Job summary

Crystal Care Homes (2) Limited in the UK is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to support residents and help lead the care team. You’ll be trusted with responsibilities including medication administration, reviewing care plans and guiding less experienced colleagues, ensuring every resident receives the highest standard of care.

You’ll work on a permanent rolling rota with three consecutive shifts on followed by three off; full-time days 8:00–20:00 (average 42 hours/week).

Qualifications

• Holds or is working towards an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
• Experience as a Care Assistant in residential or nursing settings.
• Confidence in administering medication and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care tailored to each resident's needs and preferences.
• Act as a Key Worker for allocated residents, ensuring care plans are implemented and reviewed.
• Safely administer medication and maintain accurate medication records per procedures.
• Review, update and contribute to individual care plans for residents' support.
• Mentor, support and lead less experienced care team members to promote best practice.
• Monitor residents' physical and emotional wellbeing and report changes promptly.
• Liaise with healthcare professionals, relatives and colleagues for continuity of care.
• Maintain confidentiality and dignity for every resident.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, Infection Prevention & Control and legislation.
• Support meals and hydration, promoting independence where possible.
• Assist in keeping a clean, safe, welcoming environment with light housekeeping when needed.
