Job summary

Dovehaven Rest Home in Southport is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to cover day or night shifts on a 33hr/night or 22hr/day rota, with a Real Living Wage and premium pay for care workers. A £300 welcome bonus is offered after probation, and the role emphasises leadership, teamwork and high-quality resident care.

You will supervise the care team, deliver person-centred care, and ensure documentation and handovers meet standards. Full-time or part-time options available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in elderly care settings.
• Supervisory experience in care/nursing homes.
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care essential.
• Alternate weekend availability.
• Enhanced DBS required.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in helping residents feel safe, comfortable and cared for throughout the night whilst supporting the wider care team to deliver exceptional standards of care.

This includes:

• Delivering personal care with dignity and compassion
• Supporting residents’ emotional wellbeing and independence
• Managing and supporting the care team during your shift
• Supervising and supporting less experienced staff
• Ensuring care staff adhere to CQC guidelines and best practices
• Promoting high standards of care throughout the home
• Working closely with colleagues to maintain a safe environment
• Accurately completing care documentation and handovers
• Taking responsibility and using initiative when required
• Supporting elderly residents with their daily care needs

Essential Requirements
