Job summary

Appleton Manor Care Home in Stockport is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide a team through 44 hours per week of night shifts. You will oversee medication, monitor residents and ensure continuity of high-quality, person-centred care.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards, and competency in medication administration.

Our 58 bedded home provides nursing and residential dementia care. Located in Bredbury, on the outskirts of Stockport, Appleton Manor Care Home is a purpose built home offering a welcoming environment for colleagues to work as part of a caring team. Senior Care Assistant Contract

• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.
You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.
You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
