Job summary

Greatwood House Care Home in Denton near Manchester seeks a Senior Care Assistant to guide and support the care team in delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care for residents.

You will oversee shifts, ensure care is well organised, manage medications, monitor wellbeing and communicate with families and professionals to maintain continuity of care.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach

Responsibilities

About Greatwood House Care Home

Our 60 bedded home provides residential and residential dementia care. Located in Denton, just outside Manchester, Greatwood House is a friendly and welcoming home with bright communal spaces, a lovely conservatory and landscaped garden. With a strong family atmosphere and a caring team, it is a great place for colleagues to build meaningful relationships and make a real difference to residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• Contracted to 33 or 44 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For
