Job summary

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of high quality, person-centred care for individuals with complex needs, including advanced dementia.
• Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised and delivered safely.
• Oversee medication and monitor residents’ wellbeing, responding to changes or behaviours.
• Work with the wider team to guide Care Assistants and maintain accurate records and communication.

Job description

Silver Lodge Care Home is a purpose built 40 bed care home, providing specialist nursing dementia and complex nursing dementia care across two dedicated 20 bed units. The home offers a safe, structured, and supportive environment, designed to meet the needs of residents requiring high levels of clinical and dementia care, with a strong focus on dignity, wellbeing, and person centred support.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.50 per hour
• Contracted to 44 hours per week
• Dayshift

Role Overview

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality, person centred care for individuals with complex needs, including advanced dementia, mental health conditions and other long term health challenges.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered safely within a structured and supportive environment. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ physical and emotional wellbeing and respond appropriately to changes, including behaviours or complex needs.

Working closely with the wider team, you will support and guide Care Assistants, helping to maintain a calm, stable and consistent environment. You will follow and review care plans, ensure accurate record keeping and contribute to effective communication with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals.

This role requires a confident, calm and resilient approach, with the ability to support both residents and staff in a complex care setting.
