Job summary

Birdston Care Home in Kirkintilloch (just 15 minutes from Glasgow) is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a care team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care. You will ensure the smooth running of your shift, oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and maintain clear records, working with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

SVQ2 is required with Level 3 desirable, and medication competency is essential.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care.
• Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised and delivered to a high standard.
• Oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to changes.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.35 per hour
• Contracted to 39- 42 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For
