Job summary

Buchanan Lodge Care Home in Bearsden, North Glasgow, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide a care team in delivering high quality, person-centred support for our residents.

You will supervise shifts, assist with medication, monitor wellbeing and maintain accurate records, while communicating with families and professionals to ensure continuity of care. We welcome SVQ3 and strong leadership and compassion.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (minimum).
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care.
• Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift; ensure care is well organised and delivered to a high standard.
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents’ wellbeing.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• Contracted to 33.75 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
