Job summary

Birdston Care Home in Kirkintilloch is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to guide a care team in delivering safe, person-centred care for frail-elderly residents including dementia and respite care. You will oversee shifts, ensure high standards of care, and maintain clear communication with families and healthcare professionals.

We require SVQ Level 2 as a minimum with Level 3 desirable, and you must have medication administration training with competency.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach

Responsibilities

• Guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person-centred care
• Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents’ wellbeing
